Wedding Day Ready

Radiant Natural Wedding Makeup

We are truly passionate about makeup and love every opportunity to look glam. Nevertheless, not everyone shares this enthusiasm! For the bride seeking a purely stunning aesthetic for her wedding day, here are some tips on choosing the perfect cosmetics.

Keep Your Eyes Light

Although black mascara and eyeliner remain the most popular, if you’re just starting out with eye makeup, a darker gray or brown shade may help to create more subtle results. Give ILIA Clean Line Gel Liner in black or brown a try for an effortless yet beautiful look!

Highlight Important Features

To maintain a natural beauty look, try not to modify too much at once. Start with your best facial features and go from there! For example, you can heighten your eyes by adding some false lashes for drama but keep the lips soft and subtle; or give yourself an ethereal glow with bronzer while keeping the eye makeup minimalistic.

Give Your Makeup Artist Specific Direction

If you’re looking for the perfect natural look on your wedding day, being specific is key. Rather than just stating that you want a natural makeup style, explain what features and tones appeal to you most; do you prefer a warm tone with glowing cheeks? Are matte lip products more ideal? For further clarity, bring along pictures of looks that inspire you so your artist can best serve your needs!

Stick to What You Know

On your big day, don’t experiment with a brand-new shade of lipstick. Booking a trial session beforehand is fundamental; you’ll be able to decide on the best colors and try out different looks for your wedding makeup. If you choose to do your own makeup, then the benefit of that is that it gives you plenty of time in advance to test products – as often as possible.

Steer Clear of Bold Lip Colors

To achieve a look that will never go out of style, choose a lipstick shade only slightly darker than your natural lip color. We suggest 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented® Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in sahara or plume pink for fair to medium skin tones and savanna for medium to dark skin tones. If you would rather not feel like you are wearing any makeup, then opt for something lightweight with no gloss or shine.

For a subtle stained look, dab your lips lightly with lipstick followed by putting on a layer of lip balm. If you’re feeling daring and want to go bold, try out the color in advance at another wedding event – like the bridal shower or bachelorette party. After taking pictures if you second guess yourself thinking “Who is that person?” then it’s most likely not a shade you should wear for the main event.

Choose Gentle Makeup Products

Steer clear of heavy, cakey makeup. Instead, opt for a light and natural look that will make you feel more confident while still keeping your skin healthy. Additionally, be sure to select powders that do not contain Talc as these can create an undesirable heaviness on the skin and settle in fine lines.

Lastly, keep in mind that you don’t have to adhere to any rules! Make sure your natural wedding makeup look reflects who you are. Never let anyone pressure or bully you into doing something out of the ordinary.
