Prolong Your Radiant Summer Skin with These Tips

Maximize Your Summer’s Glow

We can’t fully bid adieu to our summer tans just yet, so we searched for some ways to maintain that sun-kissed complexion. The Los Angeles makeup guru Angela Levin unveils her signature tricks and go-to products in this article – read on!

1. Exfoliate

We often feel reluctant to erase our summer tan, so we avoid exfoliation. Nevertheless, dry skin looks aged while hydrated and bronzed skin appears vibrant and youthful – therefore regular exfoliation is a must.

2. Moisturize

To keep your skin looking healthy, make sure to moisturize twice daily using a deeply hydrating product that’s light and not too thick. Allow it time to fully absorb for at least 10 minutes; if you can still feel an oily residue after the allotted period, then you’ve used too much! To help lift away this excess oil from your face, take a tissue and tap lightly over the area.

Additionally, serums are incredibly beneficial when used either with or instead of regular moisturizers – just remember to use only a small amount as any leftovers should be rubbed into the hands (which often get neglected during colder seasons!). Don’t think eye cream is necessary? You’re right—a good quality facial moisturizer will do wonders here.

3. Self Tan

It’s well known that if you want a deep glow, start with a good exfoliation and moisturizing session. Afterward, make sure to lather on self tanning cream every day until you get the desired color.

4. Primer

As the sun’s radiant heat intensifies, so does your need to secure a lasting summer glow. To achieve this goal, primer should be used beneath the foundation for an overall lighter aesthetic that will endure for hours on end.

5. Foundation

Search for a product that is effortless to apply and can withstand even the harshest of winter weather. A sheer formula is essential as you should choose a color slightly darker than your skin tone, never more than three shades dark. Once applied, make sure to create a seamless finish by blending down onto your neck and décolletage area.

6. Concealer

If you’re looking for a way to get rid of those redness and under-eye circles, concealer is the answer! Instead of using foundation alone or in combination with it, concealer can help create an even complexion without covering up natural features. Concealers are especially effective when applied around the nose and mouth area as well as underneath your eyes.
