BB Cream, CC Cream, or Tinted Moisturizer?

Trying to Decide Which Type of Makeup Base Is Right for You?

If you want your skin to look healthy and want daily sun protection, you may be wondering whether a tinted moisturizer, BB cream, or CC cream is right for you. Traditional foundation is often too heavy, but you need more than just moisturizer. Here’s what you should know before making your decision.

There are BB creams out there that are so thick and pasty, they make grandma’s brand foundation look good. And then there are tinted moisturizers that are so sheer, they might as well not exist.

The problem with all makeup is that what “thicker lashes,” “plump,” or “sheer” mean to you probably doesn’t mean the same thing to the people who work at a cosmetics company.

Therefore, much like finding the perfectly fitting pair of jeans, be patient and try different things until you find what works for you—and keep in mind that even when you do find the perfect item, your taste may change over time. With that said, I believe that this Fruit Pigmented is the best daily tinted moisturizer It makes nearly everyone look and feel more beautiful.

When I worked at a beauty store, everybody always seemed to be looking for advice on tinted moisturizer/foundation/BB/CC. However, as I took people over to the mirrors, it frequently turned out that the tinged moisturizer was actually the perfect match-up in terms of not only color but also texture and coverage level.

There are few feelings as gratifying as being able to help somebody find exactly what they were searching for; both the helper and seeker feel victorious in the end.

I’d been using a not-clean tinted moisturizer for some time (it was actually the last conventional product I ever used). But then I started wearing tinted moisturizer on days when I had no plans to leave the house or see anyone special. And every single time, someone at work would say something like, “Wow, your skin looks amazing today! What did you use?”

The best part is that each shade looks lovely on a wide variety of skin tones, so it’s more difficult to make a mistake than with most tinted moisturizers. When something makes your skin look this good, you want to get the most out of it. Here’s my routine.

1.

Every morning, I apply this serum containing glow-inducing vitamin C and vitamin E. Many people have noticed a difference in my appearance, and some have even called it miraculous.

2.

I always do this lip mask when I wait a few minutes for the Vitamin C to take effect. If you hydrate and treat your lips right, it’ll make your entire face look more youthful. This particular mask is great because it’s very moisturizing; while I get ready for the day (with makeup being my last step), it sinks in nicely.

3.

I love using this face oil because it feels amazing, smells great, and leaves my skin looking really glowy.

4.

Every makeup artist I know uses eye cream before anything else—it firms and smooths crow’s feet, lines, puffiness, and dark circles better than any other product.

5.

Now that I have all the necessary products for a healthy and natural glow, I spend 5 to 10 minutes each day using this jade roller on my face in upward motions. Not only does it visibly lift my skin (!), but the effect lasts throughout the entire day. Additionally, it helps push all of the serum’s amazing ingredients deeper into my skin.

6.

It’s time to put on SPF! Not only does it protect your skin from the sun, but it also has amazing benefits for your skin’s health.

7.

When using concealer, always use a brush for the best results: Dab only on the darkness or spot you want to cover, then pat (don’t rub) with your fingers. You may think that the concealer isn’t blending properly at first, but suddenly it will disappear and take your blemishes and dark circles with it.

8.

If you find that you need to put on several coats of mascara to get the desired effect, try this alternative technique: Use a felt-tipped pen with black ink and line your lashes (on the outer half) from top to bottom. If there is any smudging, use a Q-tip to clean it up. You should only need one coat of mascara for an all day look that will make your eyes appear more open and awake.

9.

This mascara is made with the same potent ingredients found in high-quality hair care products. It conditions lashes deeply, so that each swipe not only provides incredible length and definition, but also helps to strengthen and fortify lashes for a healthy, lustrous appearance.

10.

After I put on this lipstick that flatters everyone, I take my fingers and swipe some of the color from my lips. Then, I dabbed it lightly on my cheekbones. It’s happened countless times before that people have asked me if I had gotten my makeup done professionally after seeing this one trick that takes seconds to do.

Extra Tips

  • Have you ever seen a more adorable sunscreen tube? I simply put a dot on the back of one hand, blend it in with my other hand, and then throw the tube in my purse (you can never be too prepared when it comes to sunscreen since we wash our hands so often throughout the day).
  • Not only is this my favorite perfume, but it is also a rich oil that can nourish even the most sensitive skin. It envelopes you in fine fragrance and pure essential oils, leaving you feeling both moisturized and smelling great.
