5 Tips to Refresh your Skincare Routine

Reinvigorate Your Skincare Regimen

As the outdoor temperatures increase and days become longer, your skin may be feeling a bit run-down or unbalanced. If that’s how you’re currently feeling, it might just be time to revitalize your skincare regimen for summertime! With the right products and routine in place, you can keep your skin looking happy and healthy all season long!

Lightweight Facecream

When you step out into the heat of summer, it can be a struggle to remain shine-free and products may feel like an extra burden on your face. Although you might assume that adding more moisture is pointless when skin is already greasy, hydration remains essential for all types of skin. In fact, if dehydrated your body might even produce surplus oil in order to compensate (yep – it’s confusing!) So keep up with twice-daily moisturizing but remember lightweight formulas during the day. Additionally, switch regular eye cream for an eye serum!

Vitamin C

Applying Vitamin C topically on your skin will shield you from those pesky free radicals. These molecules are unstable as they lack an electron, and in order to complete their pair, they try to extract electrons from nearby molecules which turns them into free radicals too- thus triggering a chain reaction! Free radical activity can break down collagen production leading to wrinkles and other signs of aging whereas Vitamin C promotes the synthesis of collagen thereby helping slow down aging.

Acne Prevention

When the temperature is high, it’s best to wear minimal clothing and keep your makeup routine light. Instead of trying to hide acne with various concealers or correctors, you should address blemishes head-on for quicker relief and better results in the long run.

Regularly use an acne cleanser and spot treatment to keep breakouts in check. Additionally, a healing spot treatment can expedite the recovery process from blemishes by reducing redness and discomfort. Look for Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), such as Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid, when you’re shopping around for skincare products – just be extra mindful of sun exposure since AHAs may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Always apply sunscreen before going outside so that your skin protects itself against any further damage.

With summer on the horizon, don’t let blemishes like back acne keep you from wearing your favorite swimsuit. Combat the issue with acne-fighting body spray! Just remember to apply it twice daily, ensuring that each layer has dried before putting on any clothing.

SPF

Regardless of the season, sunscreen should be applied to your skin every single day; however, with Daylight Saving Time meaning longer hours of daylight in the summer months, it is essential to ensure that you are shielding yourself from harmful UV rays. The good news is that multi-purpose products such as Moisturizing Tint SPF 46 provide plenty of moisture and color while still ensuring optimal sun protection – so why not give them a try?

Don’t let a sunburn ruin your day. Reach for an anti-inflammatory product containing Hydrocortisone and Aloe to reduce redness and calm the skin, coupled with a hydrating cucumber mask to soothe any burning sensations. With these treatments, you’ll be back in action in no time.
